To the History Teachers,
Are your lives so empty and futile that you must resort to such underhand means to obtain your satisfaction? Don you know how much pain and sweat and blood(from paper cuts) we have sacrificed for this useless binded collection of papers with printed words and papers? The time and effort required just to make it presentable? Ironically the requirements were to be professional. I am sad to say that we have FAILED. badly. You may deduct all our marks for presentation, and we will not go on a mass riot in the school. We promise. For now. You still owe much much, treekillers. For life has more meaning than to tell helpless students to do pointless itineraries for non existent tour agencies. I hope you find the meaning in life.
Regards,
A certain student.

Dear History Department Secondary 1 teachers,
On behalf of the Sec 1 population, I would like to question the sanity of the teacher(s) who set the question for this year’s history performance task. The requirements stated in the performance task are obviously not possible. In fact, unless you went to various museums and visited various less important and famous site which probably includes archaeologists digging up various unimportant pieces of coins which they already have too much of, then realizing it is an important Minoan palace, complete with toilets and dead people holding scrolls and people playing games with each other and pictures and telescopes, which may or may not be formerly covered with ash by a volcano, it is quite impossible. One would have to state how the archaeologists contribute to the finding of an ancient unknown civilization, which has to include visits to various museums and at least one visit to a damaged temple, damaged by archaeologists digging over the years and dynamite exploding in front of its face. Key understandings in “the” topic were never stated clearly, and we cannot say that a feature of a civilization must have affected one another, maybe with the exception of technology. I plead you, dear history department, to revert back to the old ways where describing, instead of explaining in painful detail, was the norm. Also, 15 days is not enough for a decent history performance task or any performance task at all. Yes, you might argue that you gave a draft, but we did do the assigned task according to the original guidelines, only to find out that everything changed and everything we did was essentially useless. Thank you for your time.
